THE HISTORY OF MAA
ESTABLISHED in 2000, The Musician Artist Agency formally known as Brownstone Entertainment, was started by Merill Brownstone and Darla Brownstone. After starting in 2000 , the agency signed its first client DJ Boom, who is one of the top rated DJ's across the globe. With more than 2.9 million records sold in the United States alone, DJ Boom has gone on to become an icon in the entertainment industry.
IN 2002, Merill Brownstone met up with Singer/Actor Timothy Hodge, at an industry party. Timothy had been lookin for a business partner to help him take his company Ross Entertainment off the ground.
In late 2002, Merill& Timothy had agreed to merge and they both decided to leave the company name as is. It wasnt untill the fall of 2004 when the board of directors hired aspiring music executive Kenneth Borris as President/CFO. After a decision was made by the board of directors, Timothy and Merill decided to change the agency's name to the Musician Artist Agency.
Over the course of six years the agency has expanded with offices in Califorina, New York, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Illionis.
The Agency's clients have appeared on major networks like: BET, MTV, NBC, CBS, Paramount Picture, ESPN, FOX NEWS NETWORK, FUSE NETWORK, COLUMBIA TRI-STAR, UNIVERSAL TALK TELEVISION AND OTHERS.
The agency has made a great buzz in the industry and is expected to take the industry by storm. You can expect to hear information about the agency in news papers, on the radio, on the news, and throughout the world.
